The face-to-face training is 4 hours covering theory and practical skills, with an assessment to pass.
Provides the skills and knowledge to manage a casualty when performing a rescue from a live LV panel. On completion, participants receive a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID009 and UETDRMP018.
Training and assessment are done on behalf of ABC First Aid, RTO 3399.
Learning Objectives
HLTAID009 — CPR
- Recognise an emergency; identify, assess and minimise hazards
- DRSABCD; perform CPR per ARC guidelines; demonstrate AED use; accurate report
UETDRMP018 — Live LV panel rescue
- Prepare to perform rescue: identify hazards, risk controls and the electricity isolation point
- Carry out the rescue following workplace procedures; isolate the panel; apply CPR if required
- Secure the worksite and complete incident reporting
Prerequisites
No prerequisites. Minimum age 14.
Important: To issue an accredited certificate, CPR must be performed on the floor with no exemptions.
Clothing: Wear comfortable casual clothing — the practical demonstrations may involve bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. Pants and flat shoes are recommended.
