Duration: 2 Day course (8hour days) face to face + Online pre-course content
Units:
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid
Certificate validity: The HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid certificate is valid for three (3) years from the completion date. The Code of Practice and Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills are refreshed annually. Certificates are issued by ABC First Aid RTO 3399, subject to successful completion of all course requirements and following internal processing.
Course details:
Online pre course training is required. The pre-learning takes approx. 3hrs to complete and consists of a First Aid course manual to assist students with answering a series of multiple-choice questions. Answers can be saved and finished any time prior to the course commencement.
The face-to-face training is delivered over 2 days and covers both theory and practical aspects of CPR Training. During the face-to face training students will also be assessed on practical skills as a requirement to pass the course.
This course provides participants with a high level of knowledge and skills in First Aid principles the next level of skills to manage first aid situations with more advanced techniques until the arrival of medical assistance, in a time frame that still allows for questioning and practical simulations.
You will learn about how to manage a scene and monitor a casualty while waiting for help, how to recognise and respond to first aid situations including conducting casualty assessment, how to assess and manage a catastrophic bleed with both a tourniquet or haemostatic dressing, and how to assess basic life support functions including the need for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation. This course covers adult and child conditions.
Training and assessment is done on behalf of ABC First Aid, RTO 3399
Learning Objectives
