Mental Health Support in the Workplace and Community
Mental Health Support in the Workplace and Community course is designed to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to address mental health challenges effectively. This course is vital for anyone looking to enhance their understanding and support of mental health, especially in a professional or community setting where such issues can often be overlooked.
Course Overview
The course is structured into “two main parts”, each addressing critical aspects of mental health support:
Part One:
This part is completed as online modules with a blend of educational videos and written content that cover the following topics:
- Establishing respectful relationships
- Determining the needs of people with mental health issues
- Meet aspirations and needs
- Identify crisis situations
- Address immediate safety concerns
- Provide referral and options for crisis support
- Care for self
Part Two:
The second part of the course focuses on how to effectively put the knowledge and theory covered in Part One into practice. Part two is delivered face to face in an interactive workshop that incorporate the use of real-world scenarios and roles plays.
By the end of this course participants will leave with a deeper understanding Mental Health and increased confidence and skills in recognising and responding to someone experiencing a mental health crisis.
