Certificate validity: While the certificate is valid for three years, many workplaces, particularly in education and care, may recommend annual or more frequent updates to maintain proficiency. Certificates are issued by ABC First Aid RTO 3399, subject to successful completion of all course requirements and following internal processing.

Course details:

Online pre-course training is required. Answers can be saved and finished any time prior to the course commencement.

The face-to-face training covers both theory and practical aspects of CPR Training. During the face-to face training students will also be assessed on practical skills as a requirement to pass the course.

The purpose of 22702VIC Course in the Management of Asthma Risks and Emergencies and 22578VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis is to provide nationally recognised training for individuals who have responsibility for others in the workplace (adults and/or children) who have been diagnosed as being at risk of Asthma and/or anaphylaxis.

Graduates of this course will be able to identify and provide a first aid response to asthma and anaphylaxis, develop strategies to prevent exposure to known allergens and triggers and minimize risks related to asthma and anaphylaxis emergencies.

Learning Objectives

22702VIC Course in the Management of Asthma Risks and Emergencies:

Completion of this course will provide learners with the skills and knowledge to develop, review, and update an asthma risk assessment and emergency management strategy and to recognise and respond safely to an asthma episode using asthma related first aid interventions. This course applies to workers who have a duty of care requirement and work in a wide range of settings where emergencies involving asthma episodes may occur. The worker’s duty of care requirement may be an industry, legislative and/or specific organisation/workplace requirement.

22578VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis

Graduates of this course will be able to identify and provide a first aid response to anaphylaxis, develop strategies to prevent exposure to known allergens and minimize risks related to anaphylaxis.

Course Prerequisition

There are no pre-requisites for this course.

Students must be at least 14 years of age at the time of attendance.

Clothing: We suggest that you wear comfortable casual clothing, as the practical nature of the demonstrations and practice may possibly require bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. Pants and flat shoes are recommended.
