Our Manual Handling Training Program is tailored for both clinical and non-clinical environments. Intensive, hands-on workshops equip care staff and lifestyle workers with the essential skills and techniques for safe manual handling.
Developed by Nigel Chong, our Clinical Nurse Consultant in Acute Care / Aged Care and Disability Services, the program covers safe techniques (body mechanics and movement), equipment usage (hoists, slide sheets and other tools) and a comprehensive approach spanning facility maintenance, hospitality, cleaning and lifestyle environments.
Facilities that have implemented our program have experienced up to an 80% reduction in musculoskeletal incidents in the 6 months following training.
Training and assessment are done on behalf of ABC First Aid, RTO 3399.
Prerequisites

Clothing: Wear comfortable casual clothing — the practical demonstrations may involve bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. Pants and flat shoes are recommended.
